Horses in History
The inspiration for this range of horse jewellery came from the fact that my workshop is a converted barn on the site of some stables. The barn is over 400 years old and was a thriving stables for many years. Being a Sagittarius, the sign of the Archer depicted by a centaur, half man half horse, it seemed fitting to do a horse related range!
Horses have been around for millions of years, and were originally tiny, about the size of a fox. Apparently, they also had 3 toes to cope with the marshy land they used to live on. As time and their environment changed, they grew taller and stronger and their toes merged into the single one they have today, although the bones are still there from the other toes
Horses have long been used as a sign of strength and virility and many horses appear in mythology and legends of the past. The winged horse pegasus is held as a sign of imortality.
Each piece is hallmarked in Birmingham, so you are guaranteed the quality of the silver, in effect you are buying jewellers quality pieces individually handmade in the Staffordshire countryside.
